Re: Oval Racing John Deeres?

BEVRA has what we call "Barnstormer Stock" for sleds like the JDX and 00 series sleds, the class is bascially 1974 and older fancooled trail sleds, with a 6" carbide rule and up to 96 studs, must use a oem style carb and oem for model exhuast. The idea of the class is to get these old...

2009 Bevra Sno Motion Grass Drags and Show

Hi Jon, I don't have anything in concrete yet as far as the XC theme, just trying to find out how many of racing greats might be interested in sharing there history. I think it's the 28th, and 29th this year. Rich is correct, the summer snocross is the highlight of the event, I raced in the very fir...

2009 Bevra Sno Motion Grass Drags and Show

Hi all, We are in the planning stages for our upcoming vintage grass drags and vintage snowmobile show, we are considering having XC racing being the theme and I was wondering if some of the ETD guys might be interested in coming up to Greenville Michigan in August to attend with their sleds? Last y...

#9 Before and After

Very Very nice piece of equipment. Those sleds (dator,295/s and 340/s and the 78 XC) just plain looked right, not to bash polaris, but most of their stuff looked more like farm equipment than Deere ever did.

Oval racing 295/S

good eye, it's a 1974 boa-ski 340ss, runs very well and looks good to boot. It's kind of a sleeper for that class, has a jackshaft, KH fluid brake, twin mikunis and comet clutching to boot. Lot's of potential, but the traction limits (6" carbide and 96 studs max) really help to keep the field pr...

Oval racing 295/S

The Deere was running 3rd till Kyle had some trouble in turn 1. Those 295/s really do have some smoke on the straights. Runs just behind my 440 down the straights and if Kyle was my weight, I'm sure he'd be faster than me.

Oval racing 295/S

Here's a pic of Kyle Weis's 295/S that he is racing in Bevra's Barnstormer Stock class. It's a class for 1974ish and older fan cooled trail type sleds that don't usually get though of as race sleds. traction limits keep the speeds down although tumbles sometimes happen... http://img8.image...

Hello all

Thanks Jon, It took some trial and error to get the rear skid to give up enough ski pressure to make the sled turn good. ended up with a limiter strap and preheating the torsion springs up front on the skid to take almost all the tension off the front scissor, always had to have fresh springs in the...

Hello all

Hi guys, been reading your site for a couple of months and thought I would finally join in. Love the racing info and look forward to learning more about Deere's great racing history. I raced a 82 Liquifire back in the 80's in ovals/drags here in Michigan, with some success, race doo's now, but it is...
