Re: Liquifire stuck in my own yard

Thanks for the pictures, enjoyed them. The 2nd gen LF's were never great deep snow machines.....just my opinion. The saving grace was when stuck, they were light enough for one man to get then going again. You're right about it being light enough. I've always loved riding the old machines on not &q...

Liquifire stuck in my own yard

I love living in a small town where we can ride our machines on the street. The trouble is that I got stuck in my own yard turning it around to load on the trailer! We're getting more snow as I type this. The pickup drivers at NAPA gave me a funny look as I rode up to buy a new clutch drive belt.

Re: Second ride on my barn find

Those carbs have been a learning experience for me! After going through them multiple times, they are finally working very well now. Someone had all the wrong jets in them.

Second ride on my barn find

People have asked how fast a Liquifire is after sitting in a barn for 29 years. Pretty fast actually! This was while holding an old camera in my left hand. Next time will be full out with a GoPro on my helmet. Pretty amazing anyway!

I have a very clean '81 as well that I bought from a member in WI on here.
I sent you a personal message.

Re: Rubber engine mounts bad?

Thanks for this tip. I didn't know there were shorter intake flanges. I have a lot to learn on this model!

Rubber engine mounts bad?

I just overhauled my carburetors on my 440 Liquifire. While installing them I noticed the right one is just touching the steering column. I thought the intake rubber may have sagged, but rotating it 180 degrees didn't make any difference. Now I wonder if the rubber engine mounts are the problem. I c...

Re: Broke my Mikuni

What does a green "moved" arrow mean? Where are we allowed to ask questions about our machines?

Broke my Mikuni

I'm going a bit crazy cleaning and adjusting everything on the 1981 Liquifire that I just bought. The cleanup on the carburetors was going well until I broke off this silly needle jet setter! I've now learned that these really don't have to be removed to clean. I'll leave them in place next time! Th...

Re: Mix fuel oil?

I've never premixed in addition to using the oil injection because of the cold. I do have a specific brand of oil that I like because I think it flows better in sub zero temps. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk That's probably true that oil is much better now than it was 38 years ago... when th...

You're probably right! I'm thinking of riding when I was younger. My fireplace sounds nicer now at that temperature!
