Eight Good Reasons to Buy a John Deere now.

Post by JoeRainville »

While surfing through some old sled porn, it occured to me that 30 years ago, when I was 13, I could have walked down to my local John Deere dealer and saved a bunch of money off one of those new fancy Sprintfires...

How about the tent? Normal people don't camp in tents in the snow, unless your a survivalist or on an expedition!

Your right Matt. When I was a kid and we camped out in the winter we just dug a hole in a snow drift and used our sleeping bags inside. It is actually not bad under the snow and air is not an issue as snow breaths.

And Bill, those big Michigans help that gal stay on top of the snow when see is out gathering firewood. As the picture shows she is thigh deep without them on. If you recall the Great NorthEast Blackout and what happened 9 months later, that explains the babybump. No mention of a fourth sled so we can assume an insurance salesman is on the run in a warmer climate.

Normal people don't buy multiple John Deere snowmobiles, wrench on them year round, spend thousands of dollars fixing them up, just to sit in their house all winter, hoping and praying, for one day of snow, just so they can ride. Just sayin......Terre

I am not sure about Lindner, but I think I am normal...or maybe OK...or I just hide it well...anyway...

Back to my "30 years ago I could have purchased a new 1983 Deere sled" theme, here is my favorite add from 1983 because it make the Sprintfires look pretty tough for a such a nice mild sled:

Rob,

I can send you the high resolution scans if you like. That add was the back page spread in the January 83 issue of Snow Goer. That issue has the Snowfire on the cover too.

Linder: I think its one of those pot-kettle things, LOL!
