Wanted Kawasaki/Liquifire Piston Rings

Post by Cabindweller »

I am rebuilding a 440 Kawi motor that is out of a 78 Invader. I have one good Kawi invader Piston and two new sets of rings for the invader pistons. I also have two good John Deere Kawi pistons but I have no rings for them. So I am either looking for two sets of rings for the JD Kawi pistons, or one decent used Invader piston. Is there any performance advantage of one pistion vs the other?

Thanks guys

Jerry

Hey Jerry,
I know we talked about this. I still have to look. My best bet is for a used straight Kawasaki piston. Do you know of any way to tell the motors apart other than the heads. Even at that I have a Liqufire motor with Invader heads on it. Getting ready for Jefferson and I have a week to get a rear end in my ATV to make sure it works since for e-bay warrenty.

So what are the differences between stock Invader pistons and rings vs stock Liquifire pistons and rings?

Thanks.

Hey Duane, I bought a used Invader piston from Ivan. But there are a few other other things you might have that I am looking for. I will call you one of these days.

Jason The Invader L ring is thicker than the Liquifire L ring. at least the early Invaders are. L ring for the Invader will not fit into the groove on the JD Kawi piston. The JD pistons are beefier in the pin area also.
