Wanted - Liquifire Radiator Hose

Post by boaski »

I'm repairing a 1978 440 Liquifire for a friend. The sled is surprisingly nice and has always been kept inside. The radiator hose running from the radiator to the heat exchanger is looking a little rough. Do any of you guys have a new one? I'll be up at the A1 show on Saturday.

Thanks,

Aren't there two hoses running from the radiator to the heat exchanger? Look at this link and see which one you want. http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/servlet/com. ... ageServlet
I have an M67677 but it's used. I'd have to check it's condition, be a week or so.

This radiator hose is the only one that runs from the radiator to the heat exchanger.

This sled also might need a jack shaft bearing:

I would be very suspious of a sled that had 500 low miles and yet had a bearing failure such as you have.

You may find that the speedo is not reflecting the correct usage.

Take a close look at the drive shaft bearing where the speedo cable connects. You may find that bearing fried as well and the speedo drive key broken.

I would be looking very closely at the entire sled. There may well be more suprises.

Looks to me like a later model speedo. Believe that km/h speedo came on the fire series sleds ('80-'84).

Over all the sled is in pretty nice shape. If the owner ever decides to sell it my intention is for it to return to my barn. The thing has been stored inside, it's just that it has spent a lot of time sitting over the years.

I'm going to pull the clutches and the suspension to check things over while I'm at it.
