JD Jackets
I'm looking for a little info on this:
2012-11-09_12.49.16 by nick80lf, on Flickr
Like most of the Deere clothing there is no tag indicating the size. I've seen these listed on eBay as women’s, men’s and or unisex so I'm a little confused. There is a brochure picture that I've seen where a woman is wearing a similar jacket, but I think the stripe pattern is a little different and the zipper color appears to also be different
Here are the questions I'm asking myself
1) Men's/Women’s/Unisex?
2) What year(s) was this introduced?
3) Did this have matching bibs, gloves, etc. (what did they look like)?
If anyone has a picture of a brochure page that has this jacket in it I'd love to see it.

Re: JD Jackets
I believe the jacket in your photo is a MENS jacket. I have a womens version of that which has elastic sewn in to the waist. (see pic) I don't see it on yours. I have a 79 sales brochure on the way to me, it should be arriving any day, I wonder if it is in there. The mitts in my photo are darn close.
The part # on the mitts TY6932 Extra Large
Better pic of elastic. This jacket has the smallest pockets ever.

Re: JD Jackets
I think you have the jacket that I noticed on the net. I believe it was a page from the brochure for the 80 sleds.
Your correct, mine doesn't have elastic at the waist and there are a few more red stripes. Think the matching bibs were the ones that had the green, yellow, red stripes running down the legs?

Re: JD Jackets
I have a fair amount of clothing and have noticed differences in the US produced clothing and the Canadian made clothing even with the same style jacket pants or suit...

Re: JD Jackets
Paul,
The pull of this jacket is on the right. I had to check the family's coats also while I was at it. Based on my findings I assume that pretty much confirms it is a men's jacket. Learn something new every day, never new womens coats had the pull on the "wrong" side.

Re: JD Jackets
My guess it's a men's jacket that was designed to go with the 80 Liquifire model year. My brother had one just like it when he purchased his 80 Liquifire new.
I have been looking for one for awhile, to go with my current project. Not saying I want to buy it, as I am out of cash for the moment.

That's ok Terry. It's not for sale at this time.johnnycyclone wrote: I have been looking for one for awhile, to go with my current project. Not saying I want to buy it, as I am out of cash for the moment.

Did your brother have the matching bibs? Recall what they looked like?
Thanks for the info you all have provided so far.

Re: JD Jackets
Nick,
I don't think they made, what I would call matching bibs, the ones he had were just black, no colors. I have two other suits here just like that, nice colors on the jackets, but just plain black bibs.
Hey Rob, I will trade you even up for the Sporty I'm picking up tomorrow. It has a real nice custom back rest/rack on back.

Re: JD Jackets
I looked in my 79 brochure and they have that very jacket listed as: "Deluxe Black Jacket with Piping" "available in men and ladies' sizes." It also came in white for that year. Doesn't show matching gloves. I also found in my 80 and 81 brochure's a one piece suit just like the jacket with matching gloves.
Hope this helps!
