79 trailfire woes

Post by Deleted User »

hello members, after reading and browsing the posts, and not really finding one that describes my trailfire problem, i seek your vast knowledge to help cure my problem.... 79 trailfire 440, good spark, good compression, can't get even a pop out of it.... tried pouring some gas mix(small amount) in the cylinders, still nothing,,, the guy i purchased it from replaced the pistons and rings, honed the cylinders, new carb boot, etc... i used to own this sled and it ran great, sold it to him,,, and the carb boot cracked and caused it to run lean, thus the new pistons and etc...like i said good spark, good comp, i'm scratching my head on this one... i mean could it be timing??? seems like i would get a sign of life (fuel, spark, compression) any feed back would be appreciated, thanks Lon.

During the rebuild, did the crank-seals get replaced. If not, replace them. As deererunner asked, what is the compression.

Maybe put the plug wires on the correct plugs?

If you have fuel, spark. and compression, it has to run. There is something basic wrong.
