Advacing timing for performance on 340 Kioritz

Post by ski »

Is this possible and how do you do it(safely) on a 1978 340 tin Kioritz?

Why do you want to other than set it correctly for 0.096 BTDC timing. It's explained in the service manual.

Would there be any performance gains from advancing it some? Just a question. I'm trying to race this and I know timing changes on other brand engines help when racing. Just wondered about this engine. By the way what is compression supposed to be. Is the service manual online here? I'll try looking for a service manual in the meantime.

I take it the engine isn't in a sled? Your looking for the service manual for the 1978 Cyclone if it's the fan cooled engine, the 1978 Liquifire if it's the Liquid engine (on www.vintagesnow.com)
