Hi, if anyone can help great have an 1980 liquifire fresh rebuild and adjusted the timing got rid of bog seems to run very well but buddie is still taking me in the hole shots with his 340 txl. I seem to stay with him once going but not gaing staying back about 4 sled lenghts. Any ideas!!!

There are all kinds of things that could effect what you want. Gearing, clutching, timing, jetting, bearings, and traction all contriute to you getting what ever you want. What other tweeks have you done?

What gears are you running?
80 Liquifire 440 x 3 (1 runs...sometimes properly)

Those 340 Txl's are tough to beat. I think Txl's had a rubber track. There was a pesky one around here that would always get the holeshot. The only mod it had was a .75 lug track. That thing would pull the skiis a foot off the ground. On the top end a 76 Liquifire 440 would pull on it slowly.

traction...i would start there ,you can have all the hp you want but ya gotta put it to the ground
