1980 liquifire
Bought a complete 1980 Liquifire today at a farm auction. I will be tearing this one down to the basics and rebuilding it. Will post more pictures of it when I get it home tomorrow.

Looks pretty good. Don't see any cracks in the dash from the pictures.

Re: 1980 liquifire
The dash has one crack on the left side where the hood comes down on it but it is in pretty good shape.
This is the progress of the tear down as of now. (the picture isn't the best quality)

Nice find. It looks in really good shape. Around here that would sell crazy at a farm auction.
Hope you got a deal.

Re: 1980 liquifire
Thanks everyone
As of tonight I have done almost as much tear down as i can without gettin a clutch puller to pull the motor out so I can rebuild it. But for now here are more pictures of the progress.

Re: 1980 liquifire
Oops! One fault in the dash. Pretty common on the 80 models, hence the change in material and structure in 81.
Looks like a rust free tow hitch which indicates storage indoors!

Re: 1980 liquifire
Thanks Don. Airborne the Sled had lived on a sheep farm for the last few decades before got ahold of it. I think it was stored close to the feed because when I took the screen out of the air box pellets came out of it one sign that a mouse may have lived in it at one time

Re: 1980 liquifire
It has been a while since I have updated this. The sled was put on the back burner most of the summer. I started working on it again last week and I now have the engine out and tore down. I also have the suspension tore down too.
Things to repair on the engine right now are: mag side piston, the crankshaft bearing on that same side, and replace all the seals.
On the suspension it needs three idler wheels and a new shock.
Now my question is what do you guys think are the best parts I can get on a budget for these few items?
Thanks for any input
Clay
