1980 SRX suspension part number? #38

Post by Den »

Can't find the actual part number for suspension item #38.
Front suspension spring for 80 SRX.
Any help would be great.
Thanks!

1980 Yamaha SRX440 D part number 38 shows a bolt for the upper shock eye.

Leaf spring is a four section stack. All four show as still available.

You need the part number for a leaf section? Which one?

I must have the wrong #38 or something.
What I need are the springs that go on each side near the first wheel that hits the snow.
I have added an example pic, but this is from my Sprintfire Manual.

Ya. Everything keeps telling me 78 or 79 SRX.
I was told that the 1980 was different?
This is almost as difficult as locating a 1982 open hood for a Sprintfire.

True. The 80 models uses a shorter tang towards the rear.
The part number I gave you should be the short tang.

The 78-79 springs show no longer available.

What does your local Yamaha Dealer say?

Kimpex or Sno-Stuff used to make replacement springs for this. Maybe there are some out there still new in the package. 04-401(01) should be the number.

My distributor supposedly has one 04-401-01 left if that's helpful.

Thanks Matt.
According to what I read it says "REAR" suspension spring though?
I could really use a left and right front spring if you have a connection.
Just shoot me a number & I'll get a hold of you again.

I believe that means rear suspension as opposed to the front suspension (leaf springs), and it looks like that skid only has one set of springs, besides the coil-over. However my disturber does not have any of the right side, which I assume is P/N 04-401. Only the left.
