Fan Belt Deflection

Post by eddingsj »

Does anyone know if there is a specification for deflection on the fan belt. I put a new one on with the some shim configuration as the old one and it is super tight.

Thanks

You will have to add one or more shims to get a deflection of 1/4-1/2".

Running the belt too tight will shorten belt and bearing life.
