I started this project back in March. First let me tell you I would never tear apart a restore-able sled JD or any other, I'd rather keep them as they are.
That said I took a beat up 76 Liquifire 440 and a motor blown, cracked belly pan and hood 97 MXZ and melted them together to get this. Still want to get a custom seat made for it.
I detailed the build on Vintagesleds.com http://vintagesleds.com/bs/index.php/topic,78347.0.html
I saw it on the other website I was having trouble waiting for your next update. This is just my opinion but with customs sometimes people think more is better and they lose track of the overall theme. You have not done that here. I know you where kind of experimenting with more graphics and adding more color. I got to tell you less is more. I like it just the way it is.
Thanks for the kind words on the build. It does need a new seat cover as there are cracks and tears in it.
The seat will have a lime green center with black sides. I did this in paintshop to see how it would look.
It will also have this on the hood as it is already bought
One of the steel skis were ran over by the skid steer in the junkyard. I tried my best to straighten it but I didn't like
how it turned out. I found these instead. Precision ski, 2 carbides each.
