latest sled
Re: latest sled
I know it does not look like much, but when the seller brought out the hood, I could not say no.
Re: latest sled
I think I need to start looking for stuff out west. Great find

Re: latest sled
The sled is missing the motor, pipes, suspension, and track. The suspension and track were put into another sled, I don't know for sure they were correct anyway, I will have to get a better look at them. Unfortunately the tunnel has been cut and modified, but better it is in my garage then in the bush.

Re: latest sled
All the dator alum. brackets are missing and the bulkhead was re-drilled to accept liquifire motor mount. Wrong airbox support but they have been re-popped. I,ve seen much worse and agree that its better than laying in the weeds. It can be fixed. Nice find, great save.

Re: latest sled
Just noticed the 78 front cooler installed in it. Kind of odd for somebody to use 78 liquifire parts and put them in old technology. If it was done today I understand but the early years? Why?.......................This had to be something that was done more recently.
Re: latest sled
I was just pondering the 78 cooler myself. I remember this sled in use about 15 years ago. At that time it had a liquifire motor and exhaust, but it did have the liquidator radiator. Around that time the liquifire motor blew up and the sled has been in pieces ever since.

NICE find !!!!!!! Brock
Re: latest sled
WOW!!! You certainly are having a good year finding sleds. You just need to find a 340/s and you would have a collection that has took many people years to build.
Re: latest sled
Thanks, but truth be told, I've been collecting John Deere sleds for about 25 years. It is only the last few years that I have bought any "special" sleds.

Re: latest sled
Well last night a friend ( who is big into snow twisters) and I decided Tasky is right, I need a 340/s. So imagine my surprise, when this morning, there is one advertised for sale only 133 miles away. I will post pictures tomorrow morning.
