jdx ignition problem

i had my 74 jdx8 running earlier this fall it was running fine but now i can only get spark off of one coil at a time i have to switch the #1 wire coming from the engine between coils to get spark. i took a test light to the #1 and #2 wires coming from the harness the #1 has a bright light and #2 a dim light. What is going on i'm beyond confused.

the points need to be cleaned on the no spark side

Did cleaning the points solve youre problem?what happens if the condenser is bad.
