What is being used for a shock on a 77 Liquifire/Cyclone ??
I have gone through the shocks listed in the Royal Distributing catalog and nothing jumps out at me as being a good fit.

Lloyd, does that catalog have the measurements in it? I've been looking for a source that does for the typical sno-stuff/SPI shocks.

Re: 77 Liquifire rear shock
I just re measured the shock
Originally I measured it as 6.5 closed 8.5 open with 7/16 holes.
measured this time to where the rust was bad on the rod. I got 7 closed and 8.5 open
Looks like a 114-07 might work 7 closed and 9.5 open 7/16 holes
Any thoughts?

The only thing I would be concerned about is bottoming out the shock and bending the rod, it might not be an issue, but in my mind it would be ideal to have a little more travel beyond the point where the suspension bottoms out.ljm wrote:I just re measured the shock

Are you looking for gas or hydraulic? I found a hydraulic shock that I used on my '76 skid, I can't remember the make or part number but I could look it up at home. It required some modification, if you're interested I can go into further detail of what I did.

Sorry for the delay, Loyd. It seems if I don't get to things right away, procrastination takes over. All I could find in my file about the shock absorber is that I bought it from Shade Tree Powersports. It was part number 02-242, hydraulic shock absorber. In order for me to make this work I had to make custom bushings and install them, I think I have pictures on my computer, I can look sometime for you, if you like
