Handle Bar Pad

So how would you restore the finish on a handle bar pad? I have one in very good condition except that it has spent to much time out in weather. What can be done?
Armoral helps some but maybe not when finish is gone. Anyone try gluing in a replacement bolt? I have two, one needs a bolt or two.

I've had the best results with taking the handle bar pads to my upholstery guy. He has some type of black dye he uses on car dashes. No idea what it is but it has held up well.

I have glued the plastic studs back into the pads. I used a contact cement. It held but you have to be careful not to overtighten the self starting nuts.

I used plastic paint with good results.
