Pretty hard to answer your questions without seeing the sled. Can you post pictures? Snowfires are pretty cool little sleds and "some" parts are available. Tracks can be an issue. Post some pics and you'll get a lot of help on this board.

farmboy186. In my opinion ANY Snowfire is really cool and worth fixing unless it has been rapped around a tree or such!! They share alot in common with the 1980-1982 Spitfire driveline and engine was the same. When stuck for parts, Spitfire mechanical parts will suffice for the for-most, including the track, but NOT the skid frame. Tracks are hard to find, and a track conversion isn,t easy on the direct drives. If you have any more questions, don,t hesitate to ask. Where abouts in Canada are you from? Always nice to see another fellow Canadian on here...Rob.

On the year - check your serial tag - it will have a build date on it. If it was built in '81, it's an '82, which they made very few of. If it's built in '82 then it's an '83, which they made 1000 of and is the most common year, so not worth as much but still a cool sled.
Some parts are common because they were shared on multiple sleds, others are harder to find.

I see Matt has been drinking 295/s juice when he posted this. The 83' models there were about 600 units built, not 1,000. These Snowfire's are a blast to ride, plus they have a decent suspension travel. Keep us posted on how you make out on it.On the year - check your serial tag - it will have a build date on it. Sorry Matt gotta keep you on your toes.

Even if there were 1000 made that is still low production in the big picture.
Any Snowfire would be a FIND in my book.

Yep, out of 175 made. Very nice find. The images have to be under 1000kb.farmboy186 wrote:i tired that and still had the same problem, the Serial# on my sled is 190,116M and the Date of manufacture is 10/81, so dose that mean its a 1982 and the 115th made?
