First off, you Kawi LF guys will be happy to know that I just got Cometic to produce the gearcase seals, and the coolant pipe gaskets for invaders and LFs. My question is about the temp gauge. I have one bust temp gauge from an 80 LF, and it has one black wire coming out of the light socket. I also have a working 3 color (green to yellow to red) with the temps on it. That has a white and a brown wire coming from it. How does this connect to my 80 LF? It is I presume from a 76-79, and the light sockets don't interchange. What can I do with that? Next is my clutch questions: I just purchased a 108-c and all of the parts I need. What shims do I need for that on the shaft? I just have all of mine in a box. How do I align the clutches w/out an aligning tool? Next is my timing q's. I have invader heads how do I set for 6 degrees advance? Lastly how do I synch the carbs w/out a gauge? Are there any aftermarket belts I can use safely, or do I have to find an 82-84 belt for my 82-84 drivetrain?

I may be able to help you with the clutch alignment, the specs for a Liquifire are:
Center Distance 11.88" plus or minus .030"
Horizontal Skew 0.020" to 0.080"
Vertical Skew 0.040"
Offset 1.46" plus or minus 0.020"
That being stated, the only adjustment that can be made on the 80-84 Liquifires is the offset.
Lay a straight edge (square key stock works great) into the drive and driven clutches and measure the distance from the back edge of the drive clutch to the outside of the key stock at the front and rear of the drive clutch. Add those two measurement together and divide by two, that will be your offset which you can change by adding or taking out shims behind the driven clutch.
This is for either the TR-800 or the 108C using a 1 3/8 " belt

Awsome, that makes it easier than buying an $80 tool.

What kind of shape is the green, yellow, red temp guage in? Is it faded at all? If not I will trade you the proper guage for your sled. I have a bunch of nice unfaded red Deere temp guages. E-mail me mhudziak2003@yahoo.com if interested.

Ditto, I'd like to buy a temp gauge for my 80 if you have some extras that work.
