1980 Original Condition John Deere Spitfire - CLEAN

Post by lastchancefarms »

This is my 1980 John Deere Spitfire in original condition. As you can see, it is very clean. the only thing I have done is replace fuel lines, plugs, and seat cover. I have owned it about a year and purchased it from the original owner whom stored it in their basement its whole life. I have won a first place trophy with it for unrestored class already. The Kawasaki 340 Free Air runs very well and the track is excellent. I am only selling/trading because I would like to get something in same or similar condition but with a 340/440 fan or liquid. I am looking for the whole family to be able to partake in vintage rides locally so I want a good clean runner. Please email or call me, will sell for cash but prefer working a trade deal for a Trailfire, Sportfire, Liquifire, Maybe a Yamaha Exciter or Older TNT 315-374-0097

Please email or call me for photos. the website wont allow me to upload mine as they are too large. sorry

If your looking for the whole family to participate you might regret getting rid of the Spitty! :naughty:
Very easy sled to learn on... and tons of cheap fun!!

I love that little sled but after they get warm they lose a little speed due to the Free/Air thing. Plus they have little to no rear suspension.

I work with a couple of guys that brag about having the Kitty kat and the 120cc that Polaris makes. Yes they are collectables but they're commanding high prices. 2, 3 and 4 times as much as a good Spitfire. And they dont have the power or suspension the little Spitty does. I guess what I'm tryin to say is take it for what it is.

Ok. I checked and mine is a 1981. Can any of you tell me why the free air seems to lack power after its hot say 20 min of riding time? Its a cool little sled otherwise

Take the Spitfire out for a ride when it is below zero and you will find they have lots of power.
