Crankshaft for a1980 440 trailfire

Post by Jd sled rider »

I was wondering how hard it is to find a good used crankshaft, and what a good price for one would be. I have a crank that has a locked up rod, and one of the crank throws has some deep pits in it from sitting for years. This on a sled that my dad bought new in 1980. It has less then 500 original miles on it. It just sat too long before I had the funds to work on it. Now I am paying the price. All else is good with the sled. Originally seat, and cover look close to new. Hopefully with everyone's help, I can be pointed in the right direction for a good usable replacement. Thanks, Linc

I got one but it needs to be pulled apart and rebuilt...PTO bearing is rough.

What would you want for it? I would have no problem sending it for new bearings if it is in good shape and could be redone.
