unknown motor

Post by deere boy »

Alright guys. I found a polaris motor left in a garage well helping a buddy move. I was told I could have it so I took. It. So far by looking online I believe it to be from a polaris 440 sport. Its free air. Has recoil, cdi, oil pump, and it's a dual carb mount. Also has the mounting plate. 110 psi in each cylinder. No idea how many miles. I was wondering however Wat this motor would be worth? One on eBay just like it going for 450.00. Is that fair price? Thanks

I'm not sure what its worth but IMO what someone is asking on eBay and what someone will pay are two different things. Are there any bids on it at that price?

This should not be a free air motor, oil injected Fuji's were fanners. Does it look like it is missing the motor shrouds?

Free air engines have no shrouding.

Fan cooled engines have shrouding. And a fan. Oh, and a fan belt.

Pictures we need pictures. Some people took off the shrouds and fans to make them f/a. Never seen a oil injected one before.

Fugi engines are Polaris.
488 cc is the actual size
50 is the class and it means 500, 44 would be 440, ect.

model 91-xxxx may mean 1991 but I don't know much about Sleds from Roseau.

Why did you think that was a free air motor? 488 cc. Fuji made a ton of them for Polaris.

And this was in a SnoPrince?

Did you get a picture of that in there?
How did it clear the steering post?
