I think I cooked my Liquifire

Post by liquifire1 »

So....out on the lake running the liquifire (trying to chase a bad ground as the lights were flickering) and I go WOT for about 600 feet and it was hesitating a bit around 6-7k then it went to redline around 8k screamed along and than it was like I hit the kill switch and she rolled to a stop without a sputter......

when it was still warm dead on the lake, it would not even give me a catch when I pulled and pulled (I unplugged the electrical and everything) and it would not fire at all "like dead"

So now I have it back in the garage and it will sputter
everything is cooled down now
and the plugs just keeping coming out wet even when I have the gas off? (when it was on the lake dead and hot... the plugs were dry??)

I pulled the plugs and turned it over and when I check the fuel pump pulse line with the plugs out I'm not getting any pressure ...is that normal?

Im thinkin crank seals???

any experts want to chime in?.......

Are the plugs wet with fuel, or with coolant? You may have lost a head gasket and are getting coolant in the cylinders.

just as an update for everyone (and incase anyone uses this for reference later)

my problem was the stator....
it was my own fault
earlier in the year I tried to put the guts off a recoil from a yamaha enticer (I was frustrated with the JD one)
it does not fit properly (no clearance) but it gives the illusion of fitting and working
so.....
the cage around the recoil ate the yamaha recoil and sent bits/shards/shreddings all through the recoil and stator area...yeah...it was a mess...

I tried to clean it up but I should have pulled the stator and cleaned it all out as it is now full of chewed up garbage and shreddings, hence the odd acting stator....

hopefully someone learns from my lesson
