hello, looking for any good sites dedicated to the alouette super 340, 440, 650 free air sleds. these are the racing sleds. wanting history of sleds, sachs engine info, pictures, ect...thanks

i know of about 2 people who have some of the 440 models and one who knows where to get a 650 model but thats it no websites.

ok, if anyone cares i found some information on these. thare were 80 of these sleds built and that is between the 340 and 440. thare were 6 of the 650's built and those were built just for the race guys. they all used the sachs free air engines and they were all specific for these sleds. these sachs engines had a unusual intake port design. all were free air engines.

here is another tid bit the cranks were the same for free air and fan cooled for 340 400 and 440
as for the 650 there is a sled yard in wisconson loaded with johndeeres and some other sleds...check with him he has raiders and a few other rare sleds...warning hes not stupid the rare ones are pricey

Hiya KEC....there's a guy in Govan, Sask by the name of Al Kruetzer who knows absolutely eveything about Alouettes.....and he has many of them in his collection. I don't have his number handy, but you can look him up. I am currently restoring a 74 295 Super Brute and he was a big help to me. He brought his F/A Villain to our vintage snowmobile derby last month and I'm fairly sure it had a Sachs
