2014 SHOF Classic Sled Round Up

Post by T White »

We'll be kicking off The Classic Sled Round Up on Saturday May 24th at 5:00 PM, with our annual cook out, this event will take place at The Hall of Fame in St. Germain, WI all are invited to attend and there is no cost for this event. Herb Howe the winner of the very first Winnipeg to ST. Paul I500 in 1966 will be our special guest, Herb will be there with his championship sled and will be happy to answer any questions you may have about this historic race.

We will also have a limited number of the new JD Snowmobile History books on hand for anybody that doesn't have one yet.

On Sunday May 25th The Classic Sled Round Up, sponsored by Arctic Cat will take place at The St. Germain Town Park. The swappers usually start setting up around 6:00 AM followed shortly there after by the show sleds.

This year we have a new class for the show. We're looking to display vintage non-snowmobile products manufactured by snowmobile companies, so if you have an Arctic Cat lawn mower, a Rupp Go Joe, a Scorpion moped or anything else these companies made to keep working through the off season we'd love to see them. There will be 2 trophies awarded for this class, best of show and most unique. so start digging through the garage or the basement and lets see what you can find.

At the close of the show we'll be drawing the winning ticket for the better than new 1978 Liquifire, donated by the John Deere snowmobile community, so if you'd like a chance to win that sled there's still time to get your tickets.

Hope to see you all there.

Can't wait! Last year was the first time I got there on Saturday for the cook out. My youngest son Kyle is really looking forward to it too. As usual he's looking forward to his annual thrashing of Rainville. Joe, Kyle just wanted me to let you know he's almost 5'11" now and has been eating his Wheaties.

They hand out the trophies around 4:00ish I think. As far as the swap, its like any other swap I've ever been to, first light til noon, then its pretty much a social event after that.

Don I have a lot of stuff to clear out mostly skidoo stuff and a couple skidoo sleds. I will have a box of nos lemans pistons and rings so if anyone needs something I have no clue what they fit but you can google each number and find it. i do have a decent jdx hood and 75 400 hood. I am hoping to get some of the rear tunnel stiffners for the cyclone and liquifires ready so I will have a few sets up there for sale. Also will have some skidoo hoods as well cheap need to go. My friend Rob will be there with me with a selection of cat parts as well. Might have my friends garage sale find 79 cross country cat as well, depends if it sells before hand.
I buy sell and service all brands. Hi Guys,

I will be attending the show again this year, but for the first time I will be working it. I am bringing along my bodygard, Cari Deerest, to rough up any over zelous teenagers.

I might list a few large parts in the classifieds like NOS Liquifire and Cyclone hoods that are too large to ship and I hope to have time to cruise the swap for Deere and/or CCC Cat parts.

Looking forward to the "Tom White Cookout" the night before the show too, you never know who will make an appearance...

Later Liquidator,

The only show my Wife likes to attend. Lots of stuff for the non vintage crowd. Gun show in Eagle River, sled museums everyplace, strawberry fest, great dining <Italian joint in St Germain> antique shopping in Woodruff, miniature golf, go-carts, horses, boating, and the list go on. Bring the Wives and enjoy the long weekend........ We head up there early Friday morning and enjoy the entire weekend just doing whatever we like.

After telling Kathy all of the things there is to do Chuck she's even considering going. The last time she went to a snowmobile event must have been 10+ years ago at Waconia.
