1974 JDX4 w/295 2ax Kohler

Post by Waterboy7 »

Just picked up another project tonight! I was driving around town today with my '74 300 and a guy stopped me at the gas station in town... "Do you restore old jd's?" I was thinking he wanted me to do a sled for him, so I told him depending on the price. He then replied by saying he has one that he no longer has time to finish and would like to sell to the right guy. I said well I'm the guy, since I've always wanted a jdx. I met up with him after work and went to his farm and ended up finding this gem!

The jdx has all of the original cowling, re-upholstered seat, and the original owners manual which I thought was neat! I'm now the third owner of this bad boy

Well here's an update on the jdx: there's a bend in the front bumper, the rear of the tunnel is bent in, the front belly pan is rusted out... So it looks like I'll have to a complete overhaul! The engine is still in good condition though, just crank seals and fuel system.
