Thanks guys ! I ran a liquifire at eagle river in 06 and swore to myself that I would build another the way I wanted it, (it belonged to another guy and I didnt have much input on it) im very confident it will be a competitive sled in 440 super stock, big thank you to my teammates at lake effect vintage racing for passing the deere on to me,

I got to meet Paul and see his sled @ boonville this year. Pic is cool but to see it in person is WAY BETTER.... Can't wait Paul to see what she does... :usa: :beers; Jdrob :sled:

Paul,

The sled looks great, hope she performs for you on the ice. Good luck racing!

I am rebuilding and racing my 1980 Liquifire in the Vintage I-500 again this year. She is about to come down for her pre-season tear down and rebuild. Going to powder coat a few more things for appearance, and update my shock package a bit. Need to replace the Willwood master cylinder and might add plastic skiis if they are in the budget. I am guessing its easier to race 180 miles with a funtioning brake.

I also thought about adding velcro to the seat so I stay put this year,

Thank you for the kind words and encuragment! I have put drag bars on it and 76 merc skis just can't wait for ice!! I will make a few passes with it at the bouckville grass drags, I know its not the ideal way to test an oval sled but ill get an idea of how she runs, many years ago when I was young and broke our sled always did double duty as a grass drager and oval racer, about the only thing that has changed is now I'm old and broke! Cheers everyone, Paul
