96 Formula S - Any "watch-outs"???

Post by Den »

Against my creed I just bought a non-Deere for this first time in my 42 years.
I've been on only Deere since 11mos old. I found a deal I couldn't refuse.
Just looking for any input, thoughts or ideas on anything special that I need to look out for.
Never has an IFS sled. Any good leads on parts supplies? Extra lubing on anything?
No manual. Links?
I rode it once & she stood right up & took off, yet only a 377 so my kids won't be going 95 across the lake.
Thanks everyone!

I love the 98 ski doo I just bought. I got a CD ROM of ebay for $7 shipped and it has all service manuals and owners manuals and parts manuals. pop it into your computer open and print off on paper whatever u want handy for in the garage. works good. I had to replace the front motor mount clutch side on my formula z and it wasn't two bad. lots of grease zerks everywhere and onboard tool kit should have a shock adjusting wrench in it. Got a new belt for $30 from haydays normally a $90 belt and put in a new track roller wheel bolt and changed the chaincase oil, have to remove the exhaust to get to cover but not a big deal. Mine is a rotary motor with RAVE. I took it out for the first time this last weekend and never owning a ski doo before i was impressed! although i did own a moto-ski back in the day and loved that too lol

Geeeze. CHAINCASE!!

I've only been riding DD Deere for the past 9 years.

Don't forget to examine the sprocket teeth to make sure none are missing and tighten the chain case adjusting bolt in hand tight then back out a 1/4 turn
