Jd 300 misc parts needed...bearing fun and much more

Post by daisydukers »

First off, ill probably get my terminology wrong as this is my first sled. Only worked on the engine prior to this adventure.

1975 jd 300 plastic gas tank..

Thanks to a member I have a great track for my sled. it is partially installed after a bit of wrenching, head scratching, manual reading, beer drinking, and a wee bit of med mj. My fil supervised and he learned that reading a manual has its benefits. He wanted to take the whole clutch apart to get the drive sprocket off.lol

So first off, I need a brakeband. The adhesive let go and mine is just a piece of metal now. I keep only finding a band that is for a tractor. Part # to follow.

Now on to bearings.
Boggie bearings...any ideas? Found replacements for rear idlers...just no joy on boggies.

Rear light plastic face..this is something I could have made up, but if anyone has an old one they wanna sell lemme know.

Worst thing we did was twist the head off bolt.

Shouldn't be a problem finding used bogies. There are some NOS ones on ebay right now, and if these look good to you, they might be another option, although they would need to be drilled out to 3/8" bore.

I am hoping to find some ok used ones locally I've had some bad eBay experiences.. I wish I had haggled more on a parts sled a few years back..lol but it was the same price as the quasi-running one I had and just could justify it.

Hoping to get my parts today from another member here :)

I can't wait to get the old girl running again...I got wood to haul as she saves me dragging sleighs of firewood outta the bush by hand...
