Busy weekend.....

Post by sledhead16 »

This weekend started for us by going and watching the snocross, never been to one but was a blast but cold. Then we got the trailfire and liquifire out to the lakes due to the lack of snow around here....trailfire fuel line got plugged with tank dirt had to tap out caused sled to surge but will clean fuel system all up on her now for Waconia. Liquifire would only top out at 45mph! Tried unplugging rev limiter and narrowed it down to issues at wot. Would pull hard up to 3/4 throttle and at full throttle start slowing down......the battle of the liquifire continues. Pulled carbs last night soaked in Berryman and then cleaned and assembled and syncd. It appeared that when disassembling the carb slide appeared to be not clearing the venturi completely on the motor side....after being up until 1am and tuning she now started on 1st pull and no need to pour gas down the plug hole to start it! Today at the radar runs the liquifire did 37mph on the ice.....then switched to snowpacked strip and snow was a 5 out of 10 for quality but pulled 67mph! GPS tracking 4 satellites cause we all know how accurate our speedos are.....however the srxs were present in the vintage 440 class but they had a 144 studs and we're running 112 octane.....hardly seems fair but oh well they were avg 82mph....my 670 however after 2 runs of my tra clutch popping out and sticking and discovering my clutch bolt to be loose and turnable then got retorqued back in.....don't know what that was about.....but I held 1st most of the day in the 700 class @ 82.6mph on the ice. I lost it to a mxz 670 @82.7mph after the 100 lbs kid had been trying all day to beat me....good turn out today 100 sleds probably some 340 blizzards were hitting 78mph studded but stock!......I learned today that stock is a pretty loose term in the racing world!
