76 TNT
76 TNT
Here's some pics of my ski-doo. I was told the motor had been gone through and it does run great, starts first pull. I'm going to get the seat redone, and the windsheild blew off in the wind(not broken). Then a good cleaning. Didn't get to ride it much this year. Any advice you guys got about these would be great. It has the tillotson carb on it! Enjoy!!

Re: 76 TNT
If I recall there is no choke on these. Just a primer.
Fairly decent motor.

Re: 76 TNT
Yep, just a primer(how I like it). I'm waiting on the seat to get done. Polished the tunnel up and did some stripping and painting. On the hunt for the front TNT sticker, and a good handlebar pad. I'll keep those points in mind sledder670 thanks.

Re: 76 TNT
You will find that good handlebar pads are in the Dator price arena.
$150 may buy you one. Maybe.
Reproduction decals are at www.doodecals.com $33.00

Re: 76 TNT
Just got a reply back from doodecals.com and the 76 tnt/everest is different than the 77 everest. No one has sent them the artwork for it. It looks like it may be a '440' decal. I cant even find a picture of one! The moto-ski looks like it had a 440 decal on the front in 76. Need to get this thing done so I can work on my new deeres. In the pic you can see it looks like it was maybe riveted on at factory like a '440' emblem maybe? I dont know?

Re: 76 TNT
Here she is finished and ready to ride, except for the broken tail light. I had a guy reproduce the front decal and the seat turned out nice. Fired up first pull the other day!! Now I can get to working on my mid mount Deeres.

Not good, bad day. Here's the pto side plug. I think head gasket, but i haven't took the top off yet. Pistons probably almost pooched. It was her first run of the year.

The dreaded meltdown bug has hit again.
This years vaccine is not effective.
Only new crankseals will keep that smile on your face.

Re: 76 TNT
It was rebuilt, but the pto head wasnt torqued down very good at all. I should have checked. Even with the fan cover on you could see the fuel on sides of the head if you looked closely with a flash light. The mag side piston looks great. Frustrating too have both machines broke down.
Re: 76 TNT
Does anyone know if I can change the crank seals in this rotax with out splitting the cases? I've got new rings pistons and gaskets in it. I just don't trust my own ability to tear it all the way down and put it back correctly. I sprayed carb cleaner behind the primary but there was no difference in idle speed. Any advice would be great.
Re: 76 TNT
Steve if you can take it down far enough to R&R pistons and rings you can do the case split.
You may find some more melted metal in the case and you would want that to be cleaned out.
Little chucks of aluminum are pretty tuff on bearings.
