79 trailfire color
just wondering what the original color of a 1979 trailfire 440 was.my buddies 1980 trailfire is silver and the one i just bought has a silver tunnel with a black hood.looks like someone repainted hood black and installed new decals over that.any info would be nice, im new to the site but i am not new to sleds.I own a 1981 Kawasaki Invader 440 and a 1978 Kawasaki Invader 340.I have always liked the John Deere sleds, my first ride was on my buddies when he bought it brand new in 1980.

Hey Guys,
The 79 Trailfire with the steel tunnel was not silver like the 80-84 sleds. It was a tan-ish silver color, called "Winterfrost". The silver used on 80-84 Trail and 80-83 Sports was called "Winterfrost II".
I hope this helps,
