I wanted to share a story about my latest experience with E-Bay.
My oldest daughter had a little fender bender in a parking lot with her BMW.
The front fender was crinkled above the wheel well and the body shop wanted $$$ to replace it.
I went on ebay and searched for the part and found that a trusted Auto Parts supplier offered new one at a buy it now of $52.88 with free shipping.
How this is possible is beyound me but I clicked on it. That was on Wednesday. That was not a typo, $53 for a new fender with free shipping.
On Friday there was a large box on my porch. Inside was a very nice new fender. And yes it was in a heavy cardboard box, not just wrapped in paper or plastic.
Amazing.

Wow! at that rate, how much would a whole Beemer cost?
I might just buy one.

She has had the car for two years. I was supprised as to the low cost of parts for this thing.
I had always heard that BMW parts were high but that is not the case at all.
Now labor at a dealer is another story.
But the $28.00 (NAPA) for a service manual was a good investment.
And those straight 6's can haul the mail.

Matt the joke was that the internet has busted the lid off of high car part prices.
Yes, The fender came from China so I guess we reallly have Tricky Dick to thank for that.
