Have an '80 Trailfire 440. I am going to attempt to remove the clutch this week. I have a perfectly fine "new" crankshaft that will be replacing the current one with.
Once I get the clutch off, do I need a special bolt (other than one that fits the threads) to put the clutch back and onto the new shaft?
I received the machine with no bolt on the shaft or in the clutch.
I have another question but will post as a new topic or actually do some searching first.
Any advice would be great. Thanks Y'all.

Re: Cutch Bolt?
The clutch puller shaft is a larger diameter than the threads in the crank shaft so you can push the clutch off and not damage the crank threads. You should be able to reuse the bolt from your existing clutch and the new crank should be the same thread size as the old crank. Be sure to torque your clutch to factory specs, about 50 ft pds.

Re: Cutch Bolt?
Thank You very much!
Do I need a special bolt to put the clutch on the new crankshaft? I have neither the old nor the new bolt. Just curious if I can use a regular bolt equal to length and threads?

Re: Cutch Bolt?
Bolt measures 1/2" x 6-1/2" p/n 19H3326. You will need a 1/2" lock washer and a 17/32" x 1-1/8" x 0.105" washer, p/n 24H1254. Also calls for an M64607 washer nearest the clutch. Will look around, might have a spare sitting on the shelf from when I replaced a 102C, free to a good home. New clutches came from Comet with a new bolt and washers.

Re: Cutch Bolt?
Have located a used bolt and accompanying washers. PM me about shipping details if you still need it. Only cost is whatever is required to mail it.
