Sno-scoot

Post by fastl82vette »

Picked up this sno scoot for the kids. Need to find a carb, seat base and skis for it. Couldn't pass it up.

Check with your local Yamaha dealer as they probably still support this model.

What is it an 89?

They may have skis available also but might be sky high.

It's an 88 kick start model. I know carbs are available but are around $300 I will look into the skis. The ones on it are rotted through but have good wear rods.
The guy gave me a seat base off of a quad that needs to be shortened and modified so I may tinker with that and see what comes of it.

You may want to put an ad on VS.com to find parts.

These little things are pretty neat.

The little guy sure looks happy. :thinksnow:

Way ahead of you!! :lol22:
Oh yeah! He loves anything with a motor. But his favorite is John Deere tractors.

I found sno sport skis but no scoot skis. I wonder what the difference is?

Never owned or worked on either of these Yamaha models so I don't know the difference or even if there is any.

Maybe someone that has both can do a side by side comparison for you.

I know the sport has an ifs with coil overs and the scoot has a mono leaf. The spindles look simalar in the parts break down.

Allen, that may be a little bit our fault for doing too much spoiling and maybe partially because I didn't have all of this cool stuff when I was young so I feel the need to have it all now. :lol22: :sled:
