New Project

Post by johnnycyclone »

Hey everyone. Just thought I would share a couple of pics of my newest project. Having sold all of my sleds and most of my parts to finance the project I finally found a worthy candidate. I guess the driving force in going this direction was to buy something both my wife and I could enjoy, since she doesn't like riding snowmobiles. She fell in love with Corvettes at the age of 15, her neighbor had one, and now that she is pushing 50 :shhh:, I guess it's about time she gets one. This was a pretty nice Vette, right up to the point of catching on fire. The owner accidentally left the key in the run position, which over heated the distributor cap, and started the fire. It's going to get the full blown treatment, and hopefully I will have it done in about 6-8 months. If you don't mind I will post a pic or two when I hit some of the major milestones. This should be fun, and I hope to get back into sleds, again, once this is done.

Now this is right up my alley!! I have a 79 L82 that I bought when I was 16 and drove for a few years. It's been parked for about 11 years now and will probably be there til the kids are grown and out of the house.

This appears to be about an 81?

You nailed it Greg, it's an 81. My favorite's are the C3 models with the 70-72, and 80-82 being my favorites. I had a real nice restored 69 Camaro Z/28 when I was younger, but when the kids came along it had to go. Now that they are grown up, it was time to find another car. Looking forward to hitting some cruise nights when this is done.

Still lurking in the shadows, trying to stay up to date with what's been happening on the site. My project is still moving, just not as fast as I had hoped. The shear number of parts on a car compared to a sled is incredible, still we keep pressing on. Here is what I would call my first milestone. The car has been totally disassembled and all the parts have been bagged and tagged. The frame has been stripped and painted. I will post a pic at the next milestone, which would be a rolling chassis with the complete drive line installed. I hope everyone has a great summer, and we will talk to you later......Terre
