Looking for info on SNOWFIRE's

Post by grasscutter97 »

Found a really nice looking Snowfire as part of a JD sled package deal. Seems like all it is, is a better looking spitfire? Couldn't find much about it in the pic / spec section on this board either. Production #'s, problems, etc?

Would love to hear from some Snowfire owners or someone with info on thses sleds.

Snowfires are the newer spitfire. made 82-84 fairly low production lowest being 82. Nice looking sled. I have an 82 Production for 82 was around 180 I believe?About the same as spitfire for problems not many long as you keep the eng cool.

I am on the road this week and don't have the numbers in front of me.
The 146 for the 82 is from memory and I believe the 84s were around 250.

It is a sweet pic Matt. Ive been on that site many times and thought I had downloade all the pics and brochures to my harddrive just to have for memories and reference and I dont have these. Guess I have to check back on there.

Ive had my 83 for about 4 years. Its a fun, comfortable sled. Its really cold blooded to start but ok after I installed a primer. I dont like the cdi and coil mounted so close to the motor because it gets very hot and leads to premature failure. Beside that its one of the nicest older sleds ever.
