White hood Deere 1982

Here are some pics of my newest creation. It is a 1982 John Deere Liquifire chassis with a 1982 Kawasaki Intruder motor and carbs.
I just finished it right before the National show in Midland Michigan. I purchased the original chassis from Tom (ihengineer76) I relocated the battery box for e-start and plan on installing a factory JD heated grips kit. It also has a rear gas shock and Liquifire pipe. I had a local guy fix and paint the hood white and install decals. Brad helped with rebuilding motor with Wiseco pistons and more fine tuning yet to do. The skis and bumper have been powdercoated and Bergstrom skegs installed. I will be riding this sled at ride with the champs this winter!

That is cool. I am working on something similar, but mine will be in an 80 chassis. I won't have mine finished for rwtc, because of other projects and commitments but I too will post pictures when things come togather. Again that is a very good looking sled. I have an electric start Intruder motor in my garage. Any big problems with the conversion?

I have seen a white hooded 82 on Craigslist before and thought it looked awesome! Great looking sled Matt!!

Thanks guys! No problem fitting the motor. The Liquifire airbox fits like it should. Just find a spot to install battery and you're all good

very interesting and neat Matt! what clutch weights did you use and will the liquifire pipe work better than a sportfire pipe? what gearing did you select? It will be interesting to see how she performs! The white really pops!

Stock 102c clutch from a 83 sport and stock gearing 1:86. I relocated the battery like the kawasakis sleds for better balance to keep the front end lighter

Nicely done. I have the batteries on both of my e-start Deere sleds (Trailfire and Sportfire) installed similarly.

I got meet Matt and see his sleds at the Midland show on Saturday. The white hood is an attention getter for sure, great job on all your sleds!
