I'm sure this will upset people but I've used half a dozen different oils with no problems. It's the gas what is the problem now days.

No ethanol, no ethanol, no ethanol. Use whatever oil you want as long as it meets B.I.A. and TCW-3 qualifications. Did I mention no ethanol should be used in anything with a carburetor, especially two stroke engines?

For awhile I was using the run of the mill non synthetic TCW-3 oils (typically Mercury Quicksilver from Wally World). It said is was good for snowmobiles and oil injection. Even though I never had issues with oil injection. I stopped using it because it seemed to really get thick as the temperature drops. It just made me nervous seeing how thick it was going into the oil tank. Like many others I'm using Klotz TCW-3 now and I've noticed it doesn't seem to thicken up as bad when the temp drops. I would guess many of the other popular TCW-3 snowmobile oils like Amzoil flow well in cold weather too, but I don't have experience with them.

I have done the cold check deal and have had a similar experience. Klotz does really well but I have used some others that flow every bit the same but they just don't have the same smell!

Everyone has their oil preference. Its like asking what truck brand is better...haha

Klotz is a good choice...if you can find it easily.

I agree with everyone, I prefer what's on hand. I'm currently running arctic cat 50:1 on my premix sleds.

Running Klotz as that is what I run in all my other two stroke stuff. Or should I say not running as we have no snow.
