Several months ago Tom Otte asked me to restore his 1978 Cross Country which had race history. I have to admit that I've never started with less to work with than I did on this one. Even the subframe tabs were broken. It took me a little while but last Thursday at RWTC I delivered it to Tom and he seems happy with it. I had Brock Weber (skoalmint) do the engine and clutch work and as a testament to his work the sled sat outside at RWTC for two days (day one -10 and day two -13) and when Tom went to load it on Saturday it started on the second pull!! Thought you might enjoy some pictures of it.

Yes, I think we call them "lady bugs" but in Minnesota they're called "stink bugs". It's the first sled that Patty ever asked me to remove from the shop until it was washed out. It smelled that badly.nick80lf wrote:What is that packed around the flywheel? Dead bugs?

Look like lady bugs but are actually Asian Beetles. And yes they smell putrid when squashed. Are similar to box elder bugs in that they congregate on southern facing structures in the fall and work hard to move in doors when cold weather hits. Annoying little creatures.
