1982 Liquifire Exhaust

Post by J Man »

This may be a little unusual, but does anyone have a picture or know how the inside of the last half of the muffler is designed? Does it have baffles or is it just an open chamber? I have an 82 Liquifire I picked up and someone had removed the top of the last half of the muffler and then re-welded it back together. I'm trying to figure out if someone tried to modify it for better performance or had to repair it. I currently don't have any way to look inside of it. The engine appears to be in good shape, other than running rich. Since it's been sitting for at least 10 years, I'm working on rebuilding the engine and I don't want to use an exhaust that may damage the engine after I put it back together. Thanks for you help.

Thanks JD Guy. Very interesting. I'll have to cut mine open to see what they did to it. At least I have a spare. Any chance of a diagram showing how the exhaust flows thru it?
