340/s restoration ON THE GAS KICKIN' ASS!
A friend in the JD community recently sold me this purple 1975 340/s. #179 Don't really know much history but seems to have been drag raced at some point. I plan to do a full restoration this summer and make it to a few shows and vintage rides this winter. It seems pretty complete which is a good start.

Completely torn down considering I picked up the sled 5 days ago. I used aircraft stripper.

Jetting was still at factory specs. Main was 260 pto and 250 mag

Weights 10lbs. less than the original 340/s skid.
The new replacement is a 1978 Liquifire Cross Country suspension. Completely rebuilt and ready for a all rubber track.

The tunnel under the seat was getting thin from torn track cleats digging in. So I rivited on a new piece of aluminum full length and it added a lot of rigidity.

After and before on mig welding the engine shroud and welding up the jackshaft when the bearing spun.
