Looking like we're building as a race sled. Thanks for the input.

Hey DA,
I would love to help you work on this machine but beings as you live in the boonies on the edge of the earth and it is way too far to visit I can't make it happen. But I wish you the best.

I know, from seeing your other projects, it will be perfect when you roll it out of your shop.

It looks as though there are two expansion chamber there. One may have holes in it but repairable. Would it be available???

Darin, I've had several calls about the "extra" parts for the 340/S but the truth of the matter is nothing will be disposed of until the sled is completed. Roughly the summer of 2017.

At our Snowmobile Hall of Fame Board Meeting on May28th, we were asked to change our vintage raffle sled from 2018 to 2019. It seems that 2018 will be the 50th Anniversary of Yamaha sleds and their contingent wants to create the vintage raffle sled. We agreed to change our sled project until 2019. Truthfully it'll be here before you know it. We have to have the sled done and ready to display by July of 2018. We still need lot's of parts for our sled or donations towards it. Donations will be tax deductible if sent to the Snowmobile Hall of Fame, PO Box 720, St. Germain, WI 54558. Put a note saying the donation is for the John Deere 340/S Vintage Raffle Sled. Parts are always welcome. I'm happy to say that Brock Weber will be building the engine for us. I have donated a new set of pistons for it.

Thanks for your anticipated help.

Jeremy, we didn't have enough components to do the restoration and we had an offer to buy so the sled was sold and the money went to the Snowmobile Hall of Fame.
