82-84 LF belt

Post by guitardude081 »

I see a belt on Ebay that is the Dayco 1109. It seems to have the same specs as the 82-84 LF belt. 1 3/8 x 46 7/16. Would this work in an 82-84 LF?

John Deere spec'd the 67120 belt at 46.83" with a plus variance of .25" which works out to be a hair over 46 13/16 " + 1/4 ". Thats means the 1109 would run as a "tight" belt. It's possible it would work, but you might have some "creep" at idle. If the price is right it doesn't hurt to try.

I'm not big on chasing my sled down the driveway. My old sporty had this problem, and the first time it did it, I didn't notice til cars were swerving to avoid it. I found some n.o.s. belts, I 'll probably stick to those. But it I'm ever in a pinch, I'll probably use an 1109.

I had the M69170 belt reproduced last year. These are exact repros of the OEM belt but are made of the latest materials. The 1109 does not fit properly but is the closest to the original dimensions of any aftermarket belts. There are approx. 40 of these new belts in existence and once they are gone they are gone. Ed (Deere Daze) distributes them. Peter
