1975 I500 #161 340/s saw sunlight again

Spent a day removing the cyclone decals. Apparently the paint was a little faded compared to the spots under the decals.

I brought the I500 340/s and the Iowa Farm 340/s to the Albany, MN Pioneer show. They were featuring John Deere Tractors and Snowmobiles this year. The staff were great helping us get setup. I put all new decals on the I500 hood from AFE Graphics and Andrew Engels helped with the center hood graphics and Jesse Babler helped with the correct I500 Decals. The motor is still in the building stage. The original Racer could not make it out due to family in the hospital. A radio host from central MN interviewed me though for a show. He sent me the interview, I also brought the consecutive twin liquifires. He loved the stories and history about those sleds. My better half was up late the night before finishing the display boards, but many many people stopped to read them which was cool. It was hard to tell which sleds were more popular the twin liquifires or the 340/s's.

I should add that the original racer informed me that this sled was stolen during the race and abandoned in the woods and recovered by the sheriff's office. Parts were stolen off of it, maybe that's where the air box went. Who knows if it was kids, or competitors. This sled has had a rough past hahaha.

That is so cool Allan!! Awesome that you could put it on display for people to see them. I'm sure for the a lot of people, they bring back the memories of yesteryear and running these sleds on farms and fields. That's kinda why we are all into this sport in the first place.
