Thanks, skoalmint. The snow that was in the forecast for us never did amount to anything. All we have here is about three inches that has settled down to practically nothing. And today, the wind is blowing it all way. So I still haven't had a chance to see what this Cyclone will do in real snow. I'm getting awful anxious now. I'm almost tempted to load it up on a trailer and haul it 60 miles east to Dauphin where they at least have a half foot or so of snow. But I'll give mother nature a few more days.

We still have practically nothing for snow but I could not wait any longer. I had to take it out for a short spin today. Here's a vid of the ride.

Thanks. We got a little bit more snow here so I took groomed a nice, but rather short trail on a small field near my shop and took the Cyclone out for another little test spin this afternoon. It sure does seem quick. It gets to 60 mph on the speedo in no time but I didn't have a long enough smooth stretch to exercise it anymore. But I'm thinking it should be easily able to max out it's 80 mph speedo on a good surface. I'm taking it on a 35 mile ride in Saskatchewan on Saturday so I'll see how it behaves then.

This winter, I have had an absolute blast with the Cyclone 488. I've taken it on 3 vintage derbies, an Easter Seal's Charity Ride, and a couple of local trail rides and have a little over 300 trouble free miles on it. And there's still another ride coming up this Saturday which I am really looking forward to.

The Easter Seals ride was a hoot. They provided free gas at the half-way point and since they were expecting some vintage sleds, they had a fellow there with a barrel of pre-mix. He was waving me down to come into his little pit area but I went straight over to the nearby Co-op tanker truck since my Cyclone has oil injection. The fellow with the pre-mix barrel yelled out to me, " Hey you better come back here because that old sled takes pre-mix". I already had the hose from the tanker truck in my filler neck so I hollered back, " No.....that stuff smokes too much. I'll just use this straight gas". I watched him shake his head and I'm sure he must have told quite a few of his friends to look for a seized up John Deere a few miles down the trail.
