K&N Filters on an 80 Liquifire.

Post by gradzz »

Just curious, has anyone replaced the pain in the butt to remove air box on an 80 Liquifire with a pair of K&N air filters? If so, which ones did you use, and are there any rejetting or other modifications needed or recommended? Thanks

Paul, an easier and safer way is to purchase the shorter card adaptors from www.newbreedparts.com. The factory adaptors are so long that you need to remove the seat and fuel tank to install the airbox. Shorter adaptors take care of that and while I like K&N filters I think the factory airbox is a better idea.

The power jet carbs are not very happy without the airbox. If you do use K&N's the SN2530 will work. The steering column is tight but they will work.
