We are going to reproduce the snowflaps used on the 76-78 models (and perhaps earlier). They will be black only, no yellow highlight. They will sell for $125.00 each plus shipping. I'm taking orders at this time and will keep the offer open for two weeks. If you're interested in purchasing a snowflap please let me know at bison1112002@yahoo.com. Payment will be required at the time of the order. If anyone thinks that they have a product and/or the time to paint the yellow highlights with also contact me. Thanks for your interest.
The attached picture makes the flap look white but that's just residue that needs cleaned off. They're really just black.

Re: Snowflap Reproduction
My 79 Trailfire had that same snowflap, but I think the trim outline was white. Gonna have to dig deep in the memory bank to confirm the color unless I can find a picture somewhere in the archives.

Believe you're correct Pat. One year only, 1979 and not sure it wasn't changed to the newer style mid-production.AirborneX4Special wrote:My 79 Trailfire had that same snowflap, but I think the trim outline was white. Re: Snowflap Reproduction
Hey Don,
The 78-79 chaincase sleds include the Liquifire, Cyclone and Trailfire used the same flap, which I believe were painted yellow. The only difference from the 76-77 flap show was that the outer edge was thicker for about 1/4 of the width instead of the just the very outer perimeter.
I do not think the "JOHN DEERE" lettered flap came out until the 1980 model year.
Glad to see more those flaps being made.
-Joe
PS: I accidentally repopped the Spitfire flap when I did the Snowfire/Sprintfire flap last year. Matt check and they used the same PN, so Matt is carrying them now.

Parts book indicates the snowflap changed at s/n 120001. I assume it was to the raised white letter style that appeared until the end of the show since there isn't any other part number. Guess it could have been a running change in reality since that sort of thing happened with other pieces and parts.
