78 340 liquifire muffler

Just a quick question about the muffler on a 78, is it supposed to be shorter than the 76, 77 because of the radiator above it? The one I am working on has the long one, but I have a parts sled withe a shorter version.

From what I have seen is the 78' came with a longer muffler than 76' or 77'. I don't own one, so maybe guys that have one can speak more on that.

I have both and put in the short one just because it is easy to get in.
