hi all
i have a 1973 john deere 300 with the kohler engine
was running fine for the first few runs through the blizzard of 17' but now i seem to be loading up,
i have excessive fuel and smoke smell, and when i pull the plugs they are wet
and it feels fairly sluggish
threw a new set of plugs in, no difference
any advice is appreciated
thanks
Mike

Re: john deere 300 with kohler flooding
when's the last time the carb has be cleaned and rebuilt?
what carb are you running?
are you having a lot of fuel in the return line?
maybe a small piece dirt found its way to the carb causing issues with the needle seating right.
I have had many run fine and for no really reason they start loading up like you said. I have had good luck with rebuilding and cleaning the carbs. solving my issues.
I would also confirm that your choke butterfly is opening all the way, its possible its come loose and self adjusted.
just my thoughts, keep us updated
